Phil RosengrenFounder, Lead Instructor
Ballistic Pitching Blueprint
Most recently, Phil pitched for the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League. His years of pro experience and his commitment to studying the art (and science) of pitching give him a real understanding of what it takes to be a successful pitcher at any level.
Phil has been a pitching coach giving pitching instruction in the CT/NY area for over 10 years, working with pitcher of all ages, from Little League all the way up to Division-I pitchers at schools like IONA, Sacred Heart and Quinnipiac.
I started lessons with Coach Phil in the end of November 2012. I will be playing college ball starting this fall and wanted to find a coach that would help me get to the next level. He took a video analysis and saw some changes I could make that would not only help with my accuracy but also my velocity. He did not try to change the way I throw just some slight adjustments that would go a long way in helping me perform better.
He gave me some great drills to do that would help my landing and back foot. He has a great understanding of mechanics and how to improve on them without changing any arm angle. It is very hard to find an instructor who is constantly learning about the art of pitching and then able to teach that to his students. I continue to use his drills and will continue to take lessons from Coach Phil. I can’t say enough about his approach and execution of his pitching philosophies. Coach Phil is a great coach but also a really great person.–Kyle – High School Pitcher
I can’t thank Phil enough for the helpful instruction and video analysis he gave me! I’m having the best season I’ve ever had and my velocity and control have improved drastically. Not only that, I’ve learned about the mental approach to pitching and how to master certain pitches. If you want to work with the best pitching coach, Phil’s the guy to contact. –Justin, High School Pitcher
Phil is an exceptionally gifted teacher. He explains pitching techniques in a clear, concise manner so my son ‘gets it’, so to speak. No one goes home frustrated from a lesson and when Phil spots a problem on the mound, he immediately pulls John aside and shows him, not just tells him, how to correct it. Phil’s gentle but precise teaching style is a real plus for all ages.–Michele Marsh
Thanks Phil for all your guidance and instruction. For all those reading, this us the guy you should be working with to learn how to be an effective pitcher and competitive athlete. Whether 8 or 28 you want Phil to show you the ropes.–Chris A.
I worked with Phil between my freshman and sophomore years in college. After having had a lot of success at the high school level I was struggling with my control and also with the need to perfect a third pitch. He helped me develop the change up to the point where it became my “out pitch”. His encouraging style gave me the confidence to throw it in big spots while competing at a D1 level. I entered my junior year as my schools # 1 weekend starter and never looked back enjoying many personal highlights. His style of teaching will benefit pitchers at any stage of their development. –Kyle Birdsall
Phil is a master of the game and he uses an easy-going approach to teach and hone pitching skills. His experience and presence generate enthusiasm and capture attention.–Beth and Ed Matthews
Phil is a grand slam kind of guy inside and out. –Steve Diamond
My son, John, was 11 when he started working with Phil and I was amazed by the results. John’s ability and confidence grew by leaps and bounds. By the time he was 12, John was pitching in the Cal Ripken World Series.–Michele Marsh
I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you again for your work with my son Connor. You have really helped him step up his game. You brought my son’s pitching to a much more competitive level, he not only made the 7/8 grade team at school, but the JV team as well, Thank you!–Pilar J.
Phil’s ability to look and evaluate any player and take their strengths and make them better was different than anyone else’s ways of doing one way, my way. Phil gave Ben the confidence and tools he needed mentally and psychically one needs to have to go out to that mound and throw strikes.
I can’t say enough about Phil and his work with my son Patrick. Phil is a very knowledgeable pitching coach, and he explains the complexities of the pitching motion in clear, concise manner. His ability to teach the fundamentals and more advanced pitching techniques along with his positive, encouraging coaching style make him a great choice for pitchers of all ages.–Dean Nelson
My son Christian had Phil as his first pitching coach. To this day many of the things that Phil suggested to Chris he still uses. Having a successful college career has been tough, but many of the techniques and fundamentals that Phil has taught are what helped Chris to be successful. I highly recommend to any young, aspiring pitcher to get with Phil, he has lived it and can teach it.–John Fumasoli
Phil worked with my twin high school sons. He taught them better pitching mechanics, as well as the mental aspects of pitching. He was very patient with them, and my sons found it very easy to work with him. The improvement was clearly visible, and they were not only able to pitch on the high school varsity level, but were recruited by terrific academic DIII baseball schools.
Not only was Phil able to get through to Ben as a student teacher, Phil helped mold Ben into a better player with character and heart and taught him there is more to life than baseball.–Steve Diamond
